If you are thinking about having counselling, you are probably a bit unsure about how it all works. I like to explain the process to my clients like this: in life, we all drag around our individual suitcases, spilling over with our 'stuff'. In your counselling sessions, we will sit together and unpack your stuff, examine each thing carefully and then repack it in a way that makes it easier for you to carry. We will wonder about your patterns of relating to others and explore who you are and who you want to be. This process is almost always life-enhancing and can be completely life-changing.
I am a warm, non-scary counsellor who practices 'supportive psychotherapy'. I have experience in working with anxiety, survivors of abuse, trauma, attachment issues, eating disorders, grief and bereavement, depression, identity issues, simple unhappiness, mid-life crises and OCD. I trained and volunteered with the Bedford Counselling Foundation and have also worked as part of the counselling service at Bedford Prison.
Sessions are 50 minutes once a week, in person (in Hockliffe) or via Skype, and cost £45.
Please contact me for availability - sometimes there may be a short waiting list.
I am happy to answer any questions and understand that starting counselling can seem like a step into the unknown: I will ensure you won't be making it alone.
